The Fratellis turn to Jack Bauer when Chunk refuses to give up the Goonies’ whereabouts.
The world of video mash-ups is in full force. It would be cool if networks & production companies released the component parts of their productions for people to download and mash-up. for example, it would be cool if each camera angle in a scene were a seperate raw asset released by a studio. for example, the close up of jack bauer during an interrogation so you could get his lines but also his facial expressions while he reacts to what others are saying. or each vocal track – the audio of each character vs. the final audio mix.
One question I have is regarding copyright. Is blatantly grabbing large segments of a show like 24 another grey territory that while illegal, has not been policed online? Would a remixer be able to get away with this if they released it on, say NBC on Monday night @ 9pm opposite the actual show? The Jack Bauer Remix Series…head to head with 24.
Any copyright lawyers out there??
