  1. the explores are very good and they helped me get my community service. some of the stuff i learned about are drills, hostage negotiation, traffics stops, bomb threat and many more. i would stay in the explorers for years to come.

  2. I was an explorer for only a year, and I really wish I had joined sooner. The discipline is superb, I think all parents should take the time to learn about this program, and make it an interest of thier child.

  3. I’ve been an Explorer for 5 years and I’ve enjoyed every meeting, trip, competition I’ve been to. I am 18 now and going to Nationals this July in Colorado. I’ve met so many people from this program and I know there are some that will be my long life friends haha actually they’ll all be. I can’t lie I have been demoted more than you can blink in a life time LOL ok alot of exaggeration but the reason I was demoted was because I wasn’t disciplined enough played too much still think I do kinda lol but hey I love to have fun and especially with people I care about as if they were my brothers and sisters. This program creates such friends you would be able to call your brothers and sisters. It’s a great program for you kids who wanna learn more about the NYPD. I have to admit before the program I thought cops were just all dirty and were in it for revenge of their past I was soooo WRONG it was the absolute opposite of all I thought was true. Police or PoPo as alot of kids these days say aren’t after us unless you know your doing something illegal than you can expect a cop sooner or later but if u just like get to know a couple of cops your whole perspective on cops will change. Remember change takes time go to a couple of these meetings and experience what I’ve experienced. There is atleast 1 post in every state if anyone’s ever interested go to this website I found and there it should tell you alot about the program (http://www.learning-for-life.org/exploring/lawenforcement/). Well I hope I motivated a couple of people and hope to see you all soon at competitions. I live in New York City I am part of Post 2018 and have had the best experiences of my life ever since I’ve joined. You don’t have to want to be a cop to join the program it’s for anyone 21 and younger and if you’d like to continue after 21 you become and Advisor which is also very rewarding. OMG I typed alot it was a pleasure talking to who ever reads this and wish you all a great life and a Happy Mother’s Day anyone that is interested in contacting me for more info email me at: davidmatos@yahoo.com Have a nice day everyone Goodnight.
