Lacie Spacy: A Musical Tale

Anyone who works in the world of digital video knows the value of a reliable hard drive. Imagine if you spent weeks building, say, a house. You’re almost finished — just a few screws to tighten on the door hinges. You show up one morning to finish the job, only to find that — through no fault of your own — the entire structure has crashed down into a pile of rubble. This is kind of how it feels when a hard drive gives out on you.

Fortunately, there are many reliable hard drives out there — the product made by Glyph, for instance, stands out among its competitors. Unfortunately, there are also many unreliable hard drives out there, and if you work in this business and are reading this, you probably just laughed and thought of the last time a Lacie hard drive crashed on you.

Well this happened to us — not with ONE drive, but with TWO. Thankfully, the good people at Lacie very graciously offered to repair our drives and ship them back to us. The big day came, and we all gathered around to unveil our resuscitated hard drives…..

This is what we found.
