The time was the seventies. The music, punk rock. The band, The Clash.

In October we filmed Moose, CMJ VP of Content, as he sat down for a mellow Q & A session with Julien Temple, director of Joe Strummer: The future is unwritten.

Temple’s familiarity with Clash alum Joe Strummer reaches back to those door kicking days when Joe played for a local house band in the West London squatting community.

Know for taking risks, Temple wanted to make a film that could “connect the man with his time, world/culture that he came from…and how he was able to impact and change it.”

With a campfire setting, Temple’s film spans the ages as he interviews many relevant and influential people in Joe’s life. It is a work that Moose describes as reaching people in a way few have accomplished before.

“Campfire is a connective space where you can get lost in the flames and the stars.” says Temple.
