There’s been increased interest in ScribeMedia.Org’s summer program.
Here’s what we have in mind for June through August 2008.
Things you’ll do:
- Go out on a daily basis and report on the business, technology and culture of digital media, create and edit audio, video and multimedia packages and/or write compelling stories based on your reporting.
- Keep you finger on the newsmakers, newsbreakers, organizations, companies and institutions that are creating and utlizing digital media in new and interesting ways; bring such people into our studio for on-camera interviews; and collaborate with those around you to increase the visibility of what you’re creating.
- Participate in and create live Webcasts of important events and interviews.
Things we’ll do:
- We’re going to arm you with video cameras, audio recorderes, still cameras, notepads and pens. We’re going to add editing suites, multimedia software applications and a host of other tools to create your Web stories.
- We’re going to pair you up with editors to hone your production skills and increase your multimedia competence.
- We’re going to place you on documentary projects to collaborate with editors/producers and introduce you to a greater media community so you learn how they’re utilizing Internet communications technologies to further promote their stories.
- We’re going to push your reporting and stories through RSS feeds, iTunes podcasts and our distribution network.
- We’re going to sit you down with our software developers so you understand how code creates the media architecture that makes all of this possible.
- We’re going to pay you: monthly stipend.
How to apply:
Send your resume, clips and URLs to pubs [/at/] scribemedia [/dot/] org. Include a cover letter that outlines your interests, current reporting focus and general multimedia acumen.
