We imagine if such a scheme were proposed Stateside, there’d be some sort of backlash concerning liberty and the marketplace to determine what should actually go into a building. That said, the French government plans to require developers to install fiber-optic cables in new apartment buildings. The move is being made to increase broadband Internet access.
