“Why are there robots walking around?” asked Ryan Fox, a marketing associate with BusinessWeek, during the Advertising 2.0 conference, which was part of Internet Week New York. Fox was referring to “Ad Walkers,” or people wearing a strap-on computer featuring BusinessWeek.com’s social-media tools. “We’re roping in a lot of people,” Fox said. “It’s very eye-catching.”

I’ll say.

There was lots of eye-candy at the two-day event, which focused on the ever-changing digital landscape and, more specifically, the proliferation in social media online. It was pretty cool checking out all the latest social-media tools, but I got a bigger rush from conversations I had with several media executives who were attending the event as guest speakers.
