Big Buck Bunny, and Then Some
Two of our favorite things — Open Source Software and animation — come together in this video by the Blender Foundation.
Called “Big Buck Bunny”, the video follows a day in the rabbit’s life as he’s harassed by rodents, and prepares for his revenge.
The film was created with the Open Source 3D software suite Blender and rendered by Sun Microsystem’s grid computing utility service Network.com.
Best yet, not only was Big Buck Bunny created with OSS, the film itself is released with a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 license, meaning, you can download and distribute hi-definition versions of this furry fair here.
