The Association of National Advertisers has added a digital media category to its annual Multicultural Excellence Awards. Fair game is creative from online campaigns, display ads, Web sites, micro sites and online video. The ANA will review submissions in six categories, including African American, Asian and Hispanic. The new category is all well and good but, considering the rapid transformation of U.S. demographics, how much longer before the whole notion of having a “Multicultural Marketing Conference” may seem, well, quaint.
