We’d love to be a fly on the wall for this one: A meeting (planned for this week) between The Associated Press and the Media Bloggers Association to help form guidelines under which AP news stories could be quoted by bloggers. The meeting was sparked after AP sent a legal notice to the Drudge Retort (get it?) to remove several postings that the AP claimed was an improper use of its stories. Bloggers, being bloggers, are livid, citing “fair use” provisions of copyright law. This could be a dogfight.
