Digital magazine publisher Zinio is looking to drum up some business. The company has introduced an online resource center to educate publishers about digital magazines. The Web site includes “Ask the Expert,” case studies, digital publishing news and discussion forums. It also has “New Ideas for Marketers,” which features tips on how to coordinate online ad campaigns with digital magazines. Digital magazines, which include ads that link readers to the advertiser Web site or a micro site, started to ascend in the late 1990s but have remained a relatively small portion of the magazine market (mostly appealing to road warriors who want to lighten their load). Magazines producing digital editions with Zinio range from BusinessWeek to Cosmopolitan to Playboy.
