We can see data points around the future, but its easy to miss the big picture. The big picture in SaaS is cloud computing. It is a pressure on the industry. 30 years ago, companies were building mainframes. There wasn’t the internet to spread processing. Client / server moved capacity from the date center to the desktop. Capacity was spread. Cloud computing is pulling things back to the center.
Virtualization is now happening with servers and hardware. The next step is dynamically provisioning.
