New Newsroom Boss at Washington Post Expected to Merge Print and Web Operations

Job One for Marcus Brauchli, The Washington Post’s new executive editor, will apparently be to merge the Post’s online newsroom with the print staff. Brauchli, who on Monday was formally introduced as the Post’s new executive editor, will add oversight of the Web operation to the top editor position once he starts in early September. Brauchli is credited with merging the Web and print operations of The Wall Street Journal during his time there as managing editor. He served in that role for less than a year prior to leaving in April, perhaps after getting a nudge from News Corp., which officially took charge of the Journal in December.
