One of our favorite alternative energy sources is the fastest growing plant on the planet, a plant that doesn’t have to compete with food crops for land or use large amounts of water to grow. Algae is sexy. Algae is cool. Everybody’s doing it (from BP to little start-ups). And Algae can be grown in a Wal-Mart parking lot, the desert, or in any industrial, commercial or residential neighborhood.
