Sporting News rolls out ‘hybrid’ news product

It’s a new ball game for Sporting News. On Wednesday the publication will introduce Sporting News Today, a daily editorial product styled after a traditional newspaper but which will be e-mailed to a list of subscribers. The company is calling it a “daily digital sports newspaper.”  No ads just yet, but eventually the product will carry video ads, standard IAB (Interactive Advertising Bureau) units and “half page” newspaper type ads.
