Microsoft has nixed the idea of acquiring Yahoo. Microsoft CFO Chris Liddell on Friday told Microsoft investors attending the software giant’s annual showcase that the odds of a takeover are “neglible.” Yahoo was willing to sell itself for the $33 a share Microsoft offered in May, but Microsoft scoffed at that price ($47.5 million). Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer said the company now plans to invest 5% to 10% of its operating income into search.
