Mino flipvideo from Scribe Media on Vimeo.
I just took a “Mini” Flipvideo from Pure Digital Technologies home from scribemedia.org. I shot a bit of the Metro trip and several buildings in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
This camera is great! Great for me, but not for some.
I like to create heavily processed “roto-scoped” looking video as well as grainy, blown-out super 8mm film. This little $179.00 cam does it with no batteries, cards, etc. The footage you’re seeing here is straight footage with Eureka “contrast” and “people tweaker”. That’s it!!!!
Normally, I would also, copy clip and add “line art”, then luma key, smooth the lines with “chroma glow” and then smooth out the comp with Magic Bullet “Looks”. Export the comp and stabilize. More than 4 times the process!!!
My only complaint is that its too shaky to do much hand held work.
Lo-Rez = Good for me
The mpeg4 already starts off pixelled-out with really high contrast. It looks like you’ve applied “min-max” on it already.
Aperture slow like Super 8mm
Lack of stabilizer creates strange look to motion when you apply “smooth cam” or motion stabilize with software.
