With apologies to Burt Bacharach, Lord, we don’t need another mountain. Or oceans or rivers. Or meadows. What the world needs is…more opinions online. And here they are, from two of the top media brands. Forbes.com has relaunched its Opinions Channel, with a new editor, Tunku Varadarajan, who previously contributed to the Financial Times and The Wall Street Journal. Varadarajan has recruited 16 new columnists, who will contribute exclusive columns on Business and Economics; Foreign Affairs and Defense; Culture and Society and Politics. In a similar vein, The New York Times Co and breakingviews.com, an online financial commentary publication, announced that a breakingviews-branded opinion column will run in all weekday editions of the Times and the International Herald Tribune (and their respective Web sites) starting Sept. 23.
