A word of encouragement for companies wondering whether they’ll ever be able to monetize online video: a new study showing that the number of Americans watching video on their computers has doubled in the past year. The study, conducted by New York-based ABI Research, surveyed 985 online households. It found that the number of Americans watching video streamed through a browser has grown to 63% today from 32% a year ago; 53% of those aged 25–29 said they watched TV shows or movies online at least once a month or more.
