The Changing Landscape of Print Publishing

The number of books published in the world each year is growing modestly and the audience of book readers is aging. Where is the book business heading? What are the new models available to print publishers to drive the industry forward in the next decade? What are the opportunities?

Hal Espo sits down with Skip Prichard, CEO of Ingram, to talk about Ingram’s strategy to navigate the changing landscape and the challenges and opportunities facing publishers and content producers.

Skip Prichard is President & Chief Executive Officer of Ingram Book Group, an Ingram Content company and leading wholesaler of trade books, spoken audio, and magazines. Ingram Book Group includes Ingram Book Company, Ingram Periodicals Inc., Ingram International Inc., Ingram Library Services Inc., Spring Arbor Distributors Inc., Ingram Publisher Services Inc., Tennessee Book Company LLC, and Coutts Information Services.

Prior to joining Ingram, Mr. Prichard was President and Chief Executive Officer of ProQuest Information & Learning, a respected global publisher and information provider serving the education, government, and corporate markets with offices in the Americas, Europe, and Asia. Mr. Prichard led ProQuest, a $300 million company with over 1,200 employees, through a successful turnaround achieving double digit growth and returning the company to profitability.

Earlier in his career, he held a number of executive positions with LexisNexis, including Vice President of corporate and federal markets where he provided business information and risk management solutions to the largest global corporations.
