Veoh Provides a Video Compass

veohCompass.png

Video service provider Veoh released a new browser plugin for Firefox and IE 7 that allows users to search for videos across sites such as YouTube, AOL, Yahoo! and others.

Once installed, the plugin works when searching across any of the sites mentioned above for related videos. Select a search result and instead of going to a new site, the video loads in a translucent windoid.

Think of it as an in-browser equivalent to the ever wonderful Cooliris.

The move to video search is a change of direction for the company as it moves to video search and discovery from its roots in the crowded video portal market.
