On the next Naked Media, March 3, noon ET

John Byrne, Executive Editor, Businessweek.com (and inveterate blogger and multi-book author)

Howard Lindzon, co-founder, StockTwits, and also the inventor of Wallstrip and also an inveterate blogger

Just when we need it most, the business and financial press is in dire straits. Business magazines are fighting to stay alive. Stock of The Wall Street Journal’s parent, Dow Jones, has plunged. CNBC and Bloomberg have laid off staff. But Business Week, whose magazine is struggling with the rest, has made its biggest investment ever in a new initiative, Business Exchange, to try to catapult it into the Web 2.0 era and beyond.

Editor John Byrne is using social platforms like Twitter to send more traffic BW.com’s way. Howard Lindzon is constantly Tweeting, too, about his Stocktwits platform, which is getting the notice of some big names in the investment community and may even be influencing stock prices.

Host Dorian Benkoil will ask John about BW.com’s many iterations, its big roll of the dice on Business Exchange and whether ventures like Lindzon’s are a threat or a help. We’ll also ask Howard about Stocktwits’ plans, his often biting comments on the business world and whether there’s still a place for business humor (we hope so!) — CBS suspended WallStrip toward the end of last year.
