Interscope launched the first of a series of iPhone/iTouch applications that focus on individual recording stars such as Pussycast Dolls, All American Rejects and Soulja Boy.

The apps are freely available at the iTunes music store and includes artist video and news via RSS feeds. It also includes — surprise — links buy music.

The applications are built on Kyte, an iPhone Applications Framework designed and tuned for media companies to push content through mobile applications.

Leaves us to wonder whether Interscope’s launch will be more lucrative for the label, or for Kyte’s founders now that they have a high profile media launch they can tout in their push for new customers.
