iTunes Pass a Worthwhile Gamble?

With Apple’s new iTunes Pass you pay a fixed price for anything a band releases within a set time period.

Depeche Mode is the store’s test case. For $18.99, fans get their new album, Sounds of the Universe, and anything else the band releases between now and June 16.

This could include remixes, alternative takes, videos and other odds and ends.

Or, perhaps, it could be nothing at all.

As Apple kindly tells us, “…purchase of the Pass does not guarantee delivery of any specific content.”
