Dishonest, Incompetent or Chalk it up to an Innocent Fail?

Paul Lamere of the the Echo Nest notices what Time magazine can’t seem to grasp: their annual Time 100 poll of the world’s most influential people was hacked. Hard.

Coming in first place is “Moot,” followed by Anwar Ibrahim and then Rick Warren. As Lamere points out, take the first letters of the top 21 finalists and you get, “Marblecake, also the Game.”

In their article accompanying the poll, Time writes that they thwarted hacking attempts. Right.

For details on the precision hack read Lamere’s post on his Music Machinery blog.
