MTV is in the process of moving from Doubleclick to Freewheel.tv as their video ad server. Freewheel, led by CEO Douglas Knopper, has a healthy dose of former Doubleclick employees on staff.

The video delivery platform used by MTV is something MTV built in-house, rather than a white label solution such as Ooyala, Brightcove, Twistage, or Digitalsmiths.

MTV also confirmed what I’ve been hearing from others, that premium (not Youtube) video advertising inventory is being snatched up by advertisers at a much faster rate than banner ads that accompany text-based content, such as articles.

Anyone have experience with Doubleclick or Freewheel? Or another Ad server platform?? What do you like / dislike?
