  • Somak Chattopadhyay is an investment professional at Greenhill SAVP, a NYC-based early stage venture fund (www.gsavp.com).

    Previously, he was at Edison Venture Fund, where he sourced and evaluated investments in the tech-enabled services sector and launched the firm’s New York office.

    Prior thereto, Somak held senior marketing/business development roles at Medtower, a pharmaceutical IT software company and DealTime, a comparison shopping company that was later acquired by eBay. Somak started his career in investment banking at Broadview International.

    He currently serves on the board of the Software & Information Industry Association’s Private Equity Forum, having previously served as Director of their New York office.

    Somak is a board director or observer for BDMetrics, MIT Enterprise Forum of New York and The Indus Entrepreneurs (Tri-State Chapter). He holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from MIT and an MBA from Columbia Business School. He can be reached at somak@greenhill.com.
