It seems that churches are getting wittier with their street-side marketing. Every church sign I drive by makes me chuckle. They have replaced the dry messages of years ago with contemporary quips to draw people in.

I have no idea what killed this deer in our yard. Whatever killed it had to be big enough to rip its leg and hip right off the body. I do know the deer is about 100 pounds and much faster than I am. Whatever took it down can certainly outrun me, despite the blazing fast times I recorded in gym class 100 yard dashes back in the day.

  • Comparative Effectiveness

Comparative effectiveness is a topic that is creeping up in the democrat / republican health care debates. Consumer Reports provides a good summary of what it is and the arguments for and against it.

  • Power Corrupts

Companies that start small and scrappy, playing within the rules of the game and altering the competitive landscape through innovation often grow into big companies that attempt to lock in their advantages through any means necessary.

It would be a bummer to be in Farah Fawcett’s shoes during her final weeks. Every news outlet has already cut together their hour long specials so they’d be ready for the, “Sad news, Farah Fawcett has died today. She was 62,” moment.

  • Standing in Line for a New iPhone

    via Peter's Beard

I remember when the last iPhone came out in the summer of 2008, Brad, who worked with us, stood in line at the Apple store in NYC for an entire day to get his phone. He took the day off.

What can we say? I’m shaking my head that you actually re-elected Ahmadinejad, but I can’t really fault you. We did, after all, elect George Bush, not once, but twice. The first time he was the dumb affable guy who ran against the stiff smart guy.
The second time around was a bit more painful, [...]
