The Wharton Interactive Media Initiative Modeling Social Network Data conference was the first to convene leading experts from industry and academia to help define, build mathematical models for, and provide ways to better utilize data arising from social networks. More specifically, the conference focused on:
- leading-edge methods for building, comparing, and evaluating models for analyzing data,
- discussing approaches for the subsequent monetization via improved prediction and resource allocation, and
- helping practitioners develop best practices to explore network value and establish standards. The conference will be comprised of presentations of new research papers by top scholars, as well as panel discussions featuring leading practitioners.
