Avian Flu Interviews
Recently, I attended the Encorium Pandemic Avian Flu Symposium. This was the first in a series of symposiums on pandemics and epidemics such as obesity and diabetes that are affecting our country.
I had a chance to sit down with all of the speakers as well as a few attendees to explore the H5N1 Influenza virus, also known as the avian flu or bird flu. I sat down with:
Dr. Ken Borow, CEO of Encorium
Dr. Frank Peacock, Chairman of Emergency Preparedness, The Cleveland Clinic
Dr. Rick Bright, VP Global Influenza Programs, Novavax Inc.
Dr. Christine Dumas, Health Care Reporter, NBC News & Fox News
Dr. Jason Irvine, former Research Director, Advanced Medical Research;
Dr. Irvine was one of the doctors on the ground in New Orleans during hurricane Katrina.
You can watch the entire panel discussion as well as all the presentations here.
They include:
Dr. Rick Bright: The Potential Scope of the Healthcare Problem
Dr. Frank Peacock: Lessons Learned from the Recent Pandemic Flu Drill Contucted at the Cleveland Clinic
Dr. Christine Dumas: Critical Role of the Media in Saving Lives in the Event of Pandemic Avian Flu
