It could be a cool way for advertisers to cut through all of the clutter or yet another sign of the apocalypse: a full advertising wrap of the exterior and interior of a New York City subway. To support the third season of its “Cities of the Underworld,” History (channel) has become the first brand advertiser to execute a full wrap on a New York City subway line. The promotion, which runs through Oct. 29, appears on the 42nd Street shuttle train (a very popular line for both natives and tourists). Exterior subway stripes — advertising that extends across the full length of the train exterior, breaking only for the doors — are running on 200 cars of several other New York City subway lines.
