Three undersea cables carrying 75% of all data traffic between the Middle East, Europe and America were damaged yesterday bringing communications and connectivity to a crawl, according to Bloomberg. It’s believed the damage was caused by a ship’s anchor off the coast of Egypt. Further slowing down communications was a domino effect whereby users switched en masse to cellphones and overloaded those systems.
