Man Versus Bubbles…or How I Spent My Saturday

The next two hours were an epic battle of man versus bubble. Armed with a little plastic bowl and two sponges, I held my ground on the floor as scalding hot foam spewed through the sides of the dishwasher.

Bryan Scary & The Shredding Tears

Video: Bryan Scary & The Shredding Tears like things big. While they are, first and foremost, a pop band, the Brooklyn-based quintet leaves no stone unturned, mixing elements of psychedelia, classic rock, indie, and prog into their sonic stew.

Patty Patty Buch Buch

Rant: Typically, Tim Russert is followed by The McLaughlin Report, aka the Octogenerian show. Actually, scratch that. 60 Minutes is the Octogenarian Show. He had about 7 minutes before he had to leave to catch a matinee broadway show, but in under 7 minutes, we switched the set to a green screen background, put the keyboard in place, did a quick audio check, and in one take he nailed a Weird Al rendition of the Beatles When I’m 64.

Dreamhost Nightmares

Article: As we move towards a world of managed services, software-as-a-service, utility computing, doggie walkers and other outsourced services that make our lives a little easier and cheaper, I thought I would take a minute, just a moment, to reflect on the horrible downside of putting complete control of your business “uptime” in someone else’s hands.

A Sad Day for Pizza: Price of Flour Skyrockets

Commentary: In news that doesn’t really have anything to do with anything we cover but is just kind of interesting, flour becomes the new oil.
